Who Needs Pumpkin Spice? We’ve Got a Brand-New Hyundai Elantra!

Things to look forward to this fall: Halloween, changing leaf colors, brisk days, and a refreshed 2024 Hyundai Elantra compact sedan. Hyundai remains loyal to sedans, even when other manufacturers have cut them from their lineups. Drivers still want them.

To say this Elantra is new and improved is a bit of an understatement. The front’s “shark-nose” styling gives it a sharper look with thin LED daytime running lights. In the back the LED taillights go from side to side, and the bumper has been restyled. There are new alloy wheel designs with sizes range from 15” to 18”. And there are new color choices, too. 

But it’s not just the exterior that makes this 2024 Elantra a great choice in a compact sedan:

• Six trim levels: SE, SEL, SEL Convenience, Limited, N-Line, HEV (hybrid electric)
• Four engine types: a gas-powered 2.0-liter engine, 2.0-liter turbo engine (developed for the fastest N version), 1.6-liter turbo engine, and 1.6-liter hybrid electric (HEV). 
• New safety equipment, including rear side airbags, rear seat belt reminder, steering wheel haptic feedback for Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist
• Inside there’s more soft-touch materials, a redesigned 4.2-inch screen in the instrument cluster and the 10.25-inch infotainment screen standard except base (SE) trim. Hyundai also added two rear-seat USB-C outlets and one front-seat USB-C outlet and redesigned the wireless charging pad. H-Tex leather seating on Limited trim
• Technology has been upgraded with Surround View Monitor, Blind-Spot View Monitor, and Parking Distance Warning (Forward and Reverse come standard on Limited trim), Digital Key 2 (for both Apple and Android), WiFi hotspot, Bose Premium Audio with eight speakers (Limited and N only), 

The N-Line performance trim level gets its own design touches, including a new front grille, fascia, side sills and wheel design plus a restyled rear end. Hyundai also tightened up the suspension, made the steering more precise and revised the software governing the chassis and steering.

All this makes for a pretty attractive package. Edmunds.com summed it up:

The Hyundai Elantra has strengthened its grip on the compact sedan segment in recent years by offering a comfortable, spacious interior, lots of tech, and good fuel economy. We’re also shocked by the jaw-dropping performance of the high-performance N. For 2024, Hyundai looks to keep the Elantra fresh and will likely raise the bar for other small sedans.
