Special Edition Ioniq 5 Stars in Magical Hyundai-Disney Social Series

Picture this: Iconic car (Hyundai’s Ioniq 5) meets iconic entertainment brand (Disney) for a road trip  to iconic SoCal locations to mark 100 years of magical characters and music. And it’s all recorded in a YouTube series beginning January 23.

The Car

The limited-edition, futuristic 2024 Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition all-electric vehicle. Only 1,000 will be manufactured. Hyundai’s designers took visual creative input from Disney Imagineering to create the Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition. Schomp Hyundai is one of the few dealers offering this amazing all-wheel drive electric vehicle, with dual electric motors producing 320 horsepower.

Evidence of the Ioniq 5’s Disney collaboration is apparent throughout, from its distinctive Gravity Gold Matte exterior and exclusive terra brown/mud gray two-tone interior, to Disney100-exclusive 20-inch wheels and Disney100 Platinum Edition badges and logos. When the Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition is turned on its touchscreen will play familiar Disney music and show the Disney100 logo and pixie dust – just the kind of magic you’d expect from Hyundai’s collaboration with Disney.

The Anniversary

The Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition plays a significant role in the House of Mouse’s 100th Anniversary celebration; the official anniversary date was October 16, 2023 and has been building for several months. “Hyundai and Disney were inspired to think outside of the box to create a unique, unexpected and multifaceted campaign that spotlighted our shared approach to innovation,” said Andrew Messina, SVP of sales, Disney Advertising. 

The Road Trip Series

Disney actors Josh Peck and John Stamos are on a Platinum Road Trip Social Series in the Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition. The social series features four short episodes on the Disney YouTube channel. They’ll visit historic milestone locations from Disney’s 100 years, including Walt Disney Company Studios, Los Angeles’s fabled Tam O’Shanter restaurant, historic Griffith Park and the Palm Springs Air Museum.

While they’re on the road, Josh and John will be highlighting memories from Disney’s 100 years and treat viewers to a close look at the one-of-a-kind Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition.
