Hyundai Racks Up More Wins with Three Green Vehicle Choices

We just never get tired of winning – and Hyundai keeps winning awards for three of its most efficient, cleanest, greenest vehicles. These latest awards are from U.S. News & World Report for the Best Hybrid, Plug-In Hybrid and Electric Vehicles of 2024.

The envelope, please!

• The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 wins for “Best Electric SUV,” which U.S. News cites for “its comfortable driving experience and its high-quality interior,” not to mention “its impressive value and fuel economy scores.” With an EPA-estimated range of up to 303 miles, time to re-up to a full charge of 6.3 hours at 240V, up to 320 hp, available AWD, and a moderate starting price, the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is the electric SUV to beat – and we don’t think it can be.
• The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 takes the crown for “Best Electric Car,” for “comfortable driving dynamics, plush cabin and excellent driving range,” plus “balanced handling and good ride quality working in tandem with a wide array of driver-assistance tech and features to make your life even easier.” The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6  has a range of up to 361 miles, gets up to 320 hp, has available AWD and a starting price of $42,450. 
• The 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is victorious as “Best Hybrid SUV.” U.S. News liked its “stout powertrain and dynamic handling…upscale and roomy interior that will be sure to provide plenty of space and comfort for passengers.” Put that together with a city/hwy combined 38 mpg from the 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid’s 1.6-liter turbo engine and electric hybrid motor and you’re in for a lot of fun – especially for the price, which starts at $35,155. 

Colorado is one of the top 10 electric and hybrid vehicle-buying U.S. states. There are several reasons, including our strong environmental concerns and, of course, the fact that there are some pretty attractive tax incentives:

• $5,000 state tax credit on electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles
• $2,500 additional state tax credit on cars costing less than $35,000
• $6,000 rebate for low-income Coloradans wanting to switch out an old/more polluting vehicle for an EV
• $5,500 rebate from Xcel Energy for its low-income Colorado customers wanting to buy an EV
