In this blog, we’ll help you understand what’s new and what’s remaining the same so you can determine whether you’re ready to buy now or you want to wait a few months to be one of the first behind the wheel of the 2019 Hyundai Tucson near Denver, CO.

Technology

On the interior tech front, the 2019 Hyundai Tucson receives some important upgrades. A few key features — Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, Forward Collision-Avoidance, and Lane Keeping Assist — all become standard on the 2019 Hyundai Tucson, where they required trim or package upgrades on the 2018 model. Additionally, Hyundai added a Surround View Monitor as an available option in the 2019 model, which is altogether absent in 2018 version.

A surround view monitor provides a top-down view of your vehicle on your in-vehicle display to help you fully understand your surroundings. This birds-eye view is rendered with things like parking spot markings, curbs, surrounding vehicles, and any other hazard surrounding your vehicle to give you a complete view of everything around you. The image itself is stitched together by taking views from several cameras on the vehicle.

There are more additions to the 2019 model, including a new seven-inch display, a standard electronic parking brake, High Beam Assist, USB ports in the rear seats, and rain-sensing wipers, among others.

Under the Hood

Perhaps the most significant change, at least mechanically, is the elimination of the 1.6-liter inline turbocharged four-cylinder engine. However, it is being replaced with a new 2.4-liter engine that will serve as the standard engine for the 2019 Tucson. Rated for 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, the new block is expected to be more efficient and smoother than the outgoing turbocharged option.
