However, during the fix, they scratched the brand new matte finish and somehow the dash. When called back to ask them to repair the paint scratch issue, suddenly all return service calls stopped. Now I need to go to other Hyundai dealerships for service as schomp cannot be trusted. In addition to the larger concern above, they mis-mounted the license plate frame, threw boxes in back (vs. installing items paid for, causing interior plastic damage via rubbing), provided a broken detailing kit, and scuffed the door sill. In short, they delivered a brand new car, damaged it, and then stopped returning my calls. Go with Hyundai, but avoid schomp.

But this experience was beyond compare and wasted a lot of my time. Mostly it was the GSM looking me in the eye and lying, not giving a xxxx about my experience, his dishonesty, or the dishonesty of his sales person. Maybe more experienced car buyers wouldn't be so shocked. I was very interested in leasing a vehicle from Schomp Hyundai and inquired about a specific VIN online. Within minutes I had an email saying that the vehicle was available for a test drive. He sent me a "video" of the car. I called the sales person about a specific incentive program Hyundai is running, he said that they would honor it. Then he started being dishonest about how leases work, directly contradicting the language in the HMF lease agreement. Absolutely insisted that he's been doing this for four years and he knows. He offered to have "his manager" call me to assure me that the HMF agreement isn't accurate. I figured I got some new guy so I went in person the next day. I am told, first, that they haven't had any of the trim I was seeking for quite some time. I was able to provide a VIN and stock number. Nope, our web site says we have it but we don't. I expressed disbelief. It took a couple of conferences with the GSM to "make sure" that this car and 3 others they supposedly have in stock are zombie cars that no one can locate, except Hyundai who says they took delivery over 150 days ago. I asked to provide feedback on my experience to the GSM. After an extensive wait, he showed up. Completely full of it. He then claimed that they had one in yesterday but maybe it sold. Two others I'd spoken with in person had claimed they hadn't had any for a while. He didn't seem bothered in any way, shape, or form that the previous evening his sales person said the VIN I inquired about was on the lot ready for me to test drive when, supposedly, they hadn't any of this trim for some time. When I brought up the xx the same sales person had given me about lease terms, he started in on the same line of xx. Seems they don't want to lease to anyone looking to buy it out early, must have some financial impact on them that they don't like. Super sketchy. Different stories from literally each person I spoke with at the dealership, online and in person. Buyer beware.

Used car sales department is a mess!. Long wait times, poor customer service and communication. Service department doesn’t address issue and ignores your request, just wants to find other costly problems. Very skeptical of “ multi-point.” Inspections, I believe they are bogus. You’ll wait half a day even with an appointment. Most disturbing I had personal property stolen from glovebox while on Schomp property overnight with no regard or explanation. Used to be a great dealer/service, something went horribly wrong.

After the lease was completed, I spent about 45 minutes with the training specialist Jazz, another amazing person! I am 68, so not a tech expert… but she patiently walked me through all the features, buttons, and programing of the car… even helped me link up my iPhone and set up favorite buttons. A few months ago, I dropped my vehicle off for an oil change. My service advisor was Omar and was very nice and professional. When I returned later that day to pick up the vehicle, I did a walk around before leaving the lot and observed a small chip in the paint on the rear bumper. I walked back into the service area and spoke to Omar to advise him of damage. I requested to review the photos he took of my truck when I dropped it off to see if maybe the damage was there at the time. We both reviewed the photos and did not see the damage. Omar took more photos of the damage and said he was sending them to his manager. He then told the dealership would repair the chip and requested that I return on later that week. When I arrived I spoke to Omar again. He explained that the manager had instructed him to give me a paint chip pen, explain how to use it, and that would satisfy the issue. This was cause for concern to me because I have not seen great results from using paint pens. I asked Omar if one of the service technicians could repair the damage and also what would happen if I wasn’t satisfied with the repair. Omar explained that we could discuss with the manager after the repair if there was still an issue. Later when I picked up the vehicle, I inspected the damage and observed it was still very noticeable. Omar was unavailable so I spoke to a different service advisor named KJ, who was also professional. I explained the entire situation to KJ and he inspected the damage with me. KJ offered to get the service manager to discuss the matter. I was then introduced to Pete the service manager. Pete was noticeably angry the moment he stepped out of the building, so I tried to diffuse the situation by introducing myself and shaking his hand. He was rude and yelled at me without prompt. He told me that the dealership wasn’t going to repair my vehicle because I couldn’t prove they damaged it. Pete then claimed the damage to my rear bumper that wasn’t in the pictures at drop off was likely a rock chip. KJ stood by during the interaction and wouldn’t even look up from the ground, presumably over how his manager was acting. I explained my point, but Pete insisted I was talking down to him. I realize the conversation wasn’t going to be productive so I requested to talk to Pete’s manager. Pete said his manager Jeremiah was unavailable. Pete refused to give me a contact number for Jeremiah, but did provide an email for him. I called the dealership’s main number that same day because I didn’t believe that Pete was telling me the truth. I was informed that Jeremiah was in fact off of work and the person on the phone took my contact information and said they would leave it on Jeremiah desk. I waited 2-3 weeks and never got a call from Jeremiah. Then I decided to send him an email. I gave him my contact information and requested that he respond to the email so that we could set up a convenient time for both of us to discuss the issue. Its been almost a month and I have still not heard back from Jeremiah. Note that I purchased this vehicle from Schomp Hyundai 2 years ago and I’ve been a loyal customer for the past 5-6 years to their service department. I’m so disappointed that they’re treating me like a liar and refusing to even call me about the damage to my vehicle and about how their manager treated me. If you decide to deal with Schomp Hyundai, know that if anything does not go smoothly, your concerns will not be taken seriously. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Went to Schomp Hyundai to test drive and purchase a 2024 Hyundai Sonata. We went over pricing, and I told them I liked the price. Drove 30 minutes home to take everything out of my car. When I came back to sign, they told me they messed up the numbers on my trade-in, and the price ended up being almost double what we originally discussed. However, other manager and a sympathetic sales advisor, Nick Becker took care of me, helped me with the loaner car. Nick is so amazing and caring. He stood by my side and helped me through out my visit and made me feel I mattered. My car is still at the service station awaiting the part. But service station staff were great too. Post diagnosis, they sent me a short video exposing what’s wrong and what are the next steps. Management seems aware and admits it’s for their benefit. Attila Szabo was our lease end consultant and told us that we were not allowed to do a cash buyout at the end of our lease. He insisted that this was Hyundai’s policy, and that because they owned the car they could dictate how you had to buy it. He also stated that you could not finance the buyout through Hyundai Motor Finance, and that it needed to be through a third party for a minimum of three months. When I pressed him about this, he told me that this is how they had done it the entire time he worked there and that his management team would not let me do it any other way. Based on this information I filled out an application, which made my credit score drop and Atilla got back to me that same day. He insisted I sign the paperwork right away, even though I was not in a rush and that made me uncomfortable. I called Hyundai Motor Finance directly to get more information and they provided me very different information than what Atilla told me. It turns out there is absolutely no reason I can’t do a cash buyout or finance again through Hyundai Motor Finance if that’s what I wanted to do. Both were things I was told were impossible. I let Atilla know what Hyundai said and he continued to say he had never heard of that being a possibility. I asked if he or his manager could schedule time to call Hyundai with me so we could figure it out together and wouldn’t you know it? A few minutes later, without any further verification, everything was magically fixed! I was allowed to move forward with a cashiers check only. He prepared the paperwork again( with a higher amount claiming they messed up on the tax number initially) and we signed that day, telling him I’d drop the checks a few days later. After refusing to shake Atilla’s hand while turning over the check, I got my receipt for the car and confirmed everything was done. I then told the manager about my experience over the past week, making sure to detail that Attila not only said I could not do a cash buyout, but that he claimed his manager was well aware of the situation and that they had spoken about it several times. I let him know that my credit had an inquiry that week from an application I had no need to fill out and had dropped because of it. I told him how frustrated I was that I had to press the issue before getting the appropriate resolution and how ridiculous it was to let an employee give out absolutely wrong and malicious information. This manager explained that there had been many changes to the lease end from Hyundai, and that perhaps Attila was confused because certain factors like the initial financing bank or the location you originally leased from changed your options at the end of your lease. I financed there, and started there. They told me that the points on my credit score would eventually go up, so a pull from the application was no big deal in their eyes. They then went on to explain that yes, obviously they prefer to finance the vehicles because a cash buyout on average loses the dealership anywhere from 800-1000$. At this point it occurred to me that the practice was well known on the sales floor, and that it was likely intentional. If someone had thrown my name into the mix and said that I was apart of something that I had no hand in I would be at least a little upset, and I noticed no such reaction from either manager. They asked me what sort of resolution I wanted from our conversation as it was simply continuing in circles and they had already promised they would address this concern with their team. They told me that the situation had already resolved itself and that there was nothing more to discuss because it didn’t matter. I can tell you I would never set foot in this place again.

In late September, I took my vehicle to Schomp Hyundai, as the engine light and 4 wheel drive light came on. The 4 wheel light went off, but the engine light remained. I advised Schomp of both issues. I also asked if they could check the air conditioner for freon levels, as it wasn't dispersing cool air. I received a call from Schomp advising their diagnostics showed a code indicating the catalytic converter should be replaced, along with minor issues such as filters, etc. I had just gotten new brakes and new all season tires (elsewhere) and those issues did not come up on the diagnostics, nor did an issue with the AWD. Finally, I was advised they did not check the air conditioner (?). I paid for parts to have the catalytic converter replaced (approx $1700+), and would bring the car back after the parts had come in. At this point, neither the engine light, or the 4WD light was coming on. On October 23, 2024, I headed to Schomp for the work to be completed. At this time, after a few weeks, the engine light came back on again, as well as the 4WD light. When I dropped it off, I advised the Hyundai that these lights were on again, and asked if they could do a complete check of the sensors, as the vehicle, which I regularly maintain, was driving exceptionally well. Yesterday, on October 25, 2024, I picked up the vehicle around noon. When Schomp released the vehicle to me, after I paid a total of $2560+, the 4WD light was still on. I advised them of this, and they ran a diagnostics advising now the 4WD needed to be replaced, and that would be an additional $1000+. I was advised by Hyundai that it was only necessary to replace the 4WD if I was bothered by the light(?). Upon starting my vehicle, the 4WD light was off, and has not come on. Car still driving very well. This morning, driving in, I turned on heat, and now air conditioner light will not go off, nor does the AC emit cool air. Serious issues with Schomp and their practices, and will be taking my car elsewhere.

Dont bother purchasing the one protect windshield insurance from Schomp. Trying to get my windshield replaced under that protection plan was an absolute nightmare. I had taken in my Hyundai to have the charging port diagnosed because I was having issues with it. They gave me a loaner vehicle to use while I left it in the shop for three days so they could do that and replace the windshield. Then at the end of the day on a Thursday I got a text that they didn't replace it because they were missing a bracket that they had to order from Canada. I then tried to schedule a time to take it in for the replacement that would not require being without a vehicle all day so that I could make it to work. I was told that the glass guy only shows up on Thursdays and they never know what time he will arrive so I would just have to leave my car there all day. I asked about getting a loaner and was told that since it was not a Hyundai warranty repair visit they could not authorize a loaner. Sounding ridiculous? It gets better. Dropped off my car at 8am this past week. Had not heard anything by 11am so I asked if there had been any progress or if there is an ETA of when my car would be done so I could pick it up and try to get to work for the last half of the day. I got a response of "I dont have an exact eta but it will be done by the end of the day". I then text again around 2pm to see about getting back to the dealership in time to take it home so I would have a vehicle for work on Friday. I got a response saying the glass guy still had not shown up, but he should be there in a few minutes. Around 2:30pm I got notification that my car doors had been left unlocked. This would indicate that the work had started. I got an uber back to the dealership which is an hour from my house across town. I arrived around 4:15pm and went to the service desk to ask if my car was done. I was told not yet.. so I said ok I will be in the waiting area. Around 4:53pm I asked again if my car was done and was told verbatim, "Not sure, still waiting". I sat in the waiting area again.. they close at 6pm so when it was close to 5:45pm I checked for the location of my car. It looked like it was parked behind the service center which is where they put the cars when they are done working on them. I walked the counter again and asked if it was done. I was told "Nope, still waiting". I said you are closing in 5 minutes arent you? I need it back before I leave today. He then got up and said he would check with the foreman. Then he comes back with my key and goes oh its been done sorry not sure for how long. I get in my car after it gets pulled around and its super hot in the cabin which means its been out in the sun for a long duration of time. It was most likely already done when I first arrived at the dealership. Nightmare. You guys should figure this out. I feel like you dont care at all about me as a consumer after I purchased a vehicle at your dealership earlier this year.
