2018 Hyundai Accent Redesigned

The Hyundai Accent occupies an often-overlooked part of the Hyundai model lineup. It’s not as sleek as the Hyundai Veloster doesn’t sell in the same numbers as the Hyundai Elantra, and doesn’t offer the cavernous space of the Hyundai Santa Fe. However, the 2018 Hyundai Accent squeezes some big changes into a small package and has a lot to offer Denver, CO car buyers.

Bigger and Better

The 2018 Hyundai Accent marks the debut of the model’s fifth generation. While you’d still recognize it in profile, this subcompact sedan gets a subtle facelift that makes it look more like the larger Hyundai Elantra. Its slightly larger dimensions should lead to more cabin space – and that means more room to stretch your legs.

New Interior

Of course, having spent all that time on the car’s looks, we would expect similar attention paid to the car’s interior. The infotainment system is now better integrated into the dash, there are available heated seats, and the overall fit and finish of the interior is nicer than before.

Powertrain

The powertrain on the 2018 Hyundai Accent gets a bit of an overhaul. It’s underpinned by a 1.6-liter inline four that puts out 132 horsepower. Tuned for better fuel economy, it will supposedly offer a seven percent boost in MPG over its predecessor. As before, six-speed manual and automatic transmissions will be available.

Tech Features

Looks aren’t everything. To complement the car’s ever-reliable performance, there are some welcome additions on the tech front. One of these is a backup camera, which wasn’t available on the last generation but which debuts here as standard equipment. Opt for the higher trim levels and you’ll be treated to a seven-inch infotainment display that gives you access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

What Else to Expect

Autonomous emergency braking – a rarity in the class – will be available. One thing that may not be is the Hyundai Accent Hatchback, which might be restricted to Canada and overseas markets for the 2018 model year. Expect the 2018 Hyundai Accent to show up at Schomp Hyundai in the third quarter of this year.

While there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all car, there are some cars that truly stand out in their segments. That’s definitely the case with the 2018 Hyundai Accent. To find out more about it, or to get more information on any current and future Hyundai models, visit Schomp Hyundai.
